Faith Affirming
Sex Therapy

“We are one, you and I, bound together in a covenant of peace, ringed around in a circle of love”
-Sister Stanislaus Kennedy

Sex Is Meant To Be a Gift.
Let's Unwrap It.

There are many topics on this site that may not feel faith-affirming to the religious observer. Some of the issues you've seen here might feel uncomfortable or even immoral. You may be asking the question:
Why on earth are you talking about faith affirming sex therapy here, of all places?

Some of my favorite couples to work with are those who were raised in deeply religious homes, and might not have received the guidance and information that they need in order to have fulfilling intimate relationships with their (typically) new spouse.

There is a unifying theme in my practice:  the deep-seated belief that sex is a gift from the divine that is meant to be fully embraced in order to build closer, healthier, often holier, relationships with our partners and ourselves. And people do that in lots of different ways, depending upon what their faith (or lack thereof) teaches about sex.

It can be very useful to work with a clinician who is comfortable starting from square one: the very basics of sexual health and education, and build towards an enthusiastic appreciation for the gifts that sexual intimacy offers the faithful couple. Because I spent five years studying to be a Rabbi before I pursued my clinical education, I am able to weave spirituality and scripture into my practice with faithful couples that meets them where they are, and gentle offers them the strength, skills, and vocabulary necessary to improve their intimate relationships.
